YMCA Association

Full-time:

SAAC (School Age Child Care)/Summer Camp Coordinator   

The incumbent is responsible for providing high quality child care to the children in the YMCA After School Child Care Program, Extended Day Programs in the School District of Lancaster and during the summer months the children in the summer Camp Program.   Will be responsible to meet and greet parents each day when they arrive and facilitate relationship building opportunities between program families and the YMCA.  Will administer communication and feedback systems to achieve measurable improvement in meeting customer needs and expectations as well as maintain communication with parents of current and prospective SACC students, through direct conversation, newsletters, calendars and develop outreach communications.  Will be responsible to track past due balances and ensures that outstanding balances are collected within 30 days. Will be required to comply with state and local regulations, Y policies and procedures, as they relate to the Department.  Will be required to recruit, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate staff as necessary to achieve constant growth financially and programmatically.  The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with flexibility to work hours needed to cover programs.  Required BS in Education or Human Services OR AA in Education or Human Services.  Minimum 1 year of experience working with children.  This is a full-time, hourly position.

Part-time:

YMCA Extended Day Program – Enrichment Instructor

(Openings for Wickersham, Price & Ross Elementary Schools)

This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of students enrolled in the Wickersham, Ross & Price Elementary School Extended Day Programs managed by the YMCA.  Will be required to implement and deliver program components of the YMCA 4 Core Values; caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.  Under the direction of the SACC (School Age Child Care Coordinator) this position will implement after school programs and provides instructions to students enrolled in the Program, will communicate with school personnel on program activities and prepare tentative syllabus for Enrichment Club.  Will manage documentation of student’s goal(s), attendance records and reports as needed for the Program.  Will be required to  inform Program Assistant of any needs and/or concerns relating to the program and work collaboratively to prepare planned activities and ensure proper coverage for classes when absent.  Communication with parents, teachers and others will be required to provide information on program activities, student progress or related concerns.  Will also be responsible to maintain, clean and organize the classroom in which the program is being held.  Minimum of High school diploma is required with over 1 year of experience performing similar work with school age children.  Experience as an instructional aide or a paraprofessional in an educational setting helpful.  This is a part-time, hourly position.

YMCA Extended Day Program – Enrichment Assistant

(Openings for Wickersham, Price & Ross Elementary Schools)

City Center YMCA

Part-time:

Child Care Provider

The qualified candidate will provide high quality childcare to the children in the YMCA Child Watch Program. Must have the ability to communicate in a clear, positive manner to the children, parents, staff and members. This position will assist and lead educational and fun activities during the work shift along with providing consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the children at all times. Will demonstrate the YMCA core values at all times by incorporating them into the day’s activities. This position will be required to attend required training and monthly staff meetings. Must be able to physically lift over 30 lbs. and be able to lead activities in a gymnasium as well as in a classroom.Minimum High School Diploma or GED.  Required 1 year experience working with children. Various shifts are available to include: Mornings – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM., Evenings – 3:30  to 8:00 PM, Saturdays – 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Averaging 10 to 15 hours per week. This is an hourly, part-time position.

Group Exercise Instructors

We are currently recruiting for instructors to sub teach Group Exercise classes.  This position will have the opportunity to substitute regular classes at the YMCA as well as the possibility to instruct regularly scheduled YMCA classes.  Qualified candidates will be responsible for the planning, teaching, instructing and retention of their group class.  Availability to sub during scheduled classes needed.  This is an hourly, part-time position.

Lifeguards/Aquatics Class Instructors

Certified lifeguards needed to work year-round at our City Branch indoor pool. Qualified candidates must have current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. 1-2 years of guarding experience is preferred. We are especially looking for availability to work the following shifts: 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and/or 12:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  We also have various hours available for Aquatics Class Instructors who are WSI/YSI certified. This is an hourly, part-time position.

Swim Lesson Instructor

We are looking to hire Swim Lesson Instructors who will be able to work year around at the City Center Y.  WSI/YSI certified or comparable experience required for this position.  Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school age group swim lessons but willing to train.  Various work hours are available to teach Monday through Friday, days/evenings and Saturdays.  This is a hourly, part-time position.

Welcome Desk Associate

We are looking for friendly, responsible individuals to work as Welcome Desk Associates for the following shifts:  4:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and/or 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with possible weekends.  This is a fast-paced customer service position that will operate as receptionist and greeter, along with being a central resource for YMCA members and visitors.  Will be responsible to sign in all guests and check identification for validity.  The position will also field phone calls, direct tour prospects, handle all inquiries and promote all YMCA programs and events.  The Welcome Desk Associate will collect and record payments for all YMCA programs and activities.  Will also be required to schedule appointments/sessions as needed for members along with performing administrative tasks.  This position may involve opening and/or closing the YMCA facility.  1 to 2 years of customer service or applicable experience helpful.  Basic computer skills required.  This is a part-time, hourly position.

Swim Lesson Instructors

WSI/YSI certified or comparable experience required for this position. Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school age group swim lessons but willing to train. Various work hours are available to teach during days/evenings and Saturdays. This is a year round position.  This is a part-time, hourly position.

YMCA at New Holland

Part-time:

Aquatics Coordinator

The successful candidate for this positon must be able to provide a flexible work schedule as evening and weekend coverage will be required.  This position will be responsible to supervisor all aspects of the Aquatics Department to include hiring, training, payroll, employee counseling, etc. for all aquatic staff (lifeguards, swim and water aerobics instructors).  Will oversee the development and delivery of quality swim lessons and water fitness classes.  Will monitor and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in aquatic programs along with maintaining program areas and equipment to ensure that the aquatic facility and programs are operating at the highest level of safety and that programs comply with YMCA standards and all regulatory requirements are followed and met. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience or degree in related field along with previous supervisory/management experience.   Candidate must also possess a thorough understanding of customer service and its relationship to membership development.  Experience in program development and managing department budget also required.  Must obtain and maintain required certifications included but not limited to; Certified Pool Operators License, LGI or YMCA of the USA Lifeguard or trainer, swim lesson instructor or trainer.  This is an hourly, part-time position that will average 28 hours per week.

Water Aerobics Instructor  

We are currently recruiting individuals who are experienced instructors to teach our Aqua Flow Class (Yoga/Pilates based) and sub as needed.  This class is conducted on Fridays from 11:00 to 11:45 AM.  The qualified candidate will possess experience in leading an exercise group in aquatics or related area.  Aquatic Fitness and/or Water Aerobic Certification preferred.  This is an hourly, part-time position.

Lifeguards

Certified lifeguards needed to work year-round at the New Holland indoor pool. Qualified candidates must have current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. 1-2 years of guarding experience is preferred. We are especially looking for applicants who have the availability to work any of the following shifts:  Weeknights – 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or 5:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Weekends – Saturdays 6:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sundays 11:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  This position would average approximately 15 to 20 hours per week.  This is a hourly, part-time position.

Swim Lesson Instructor

We are looking to hire Swim Lesson Instructors who will be able to work year around.  WSI/YSI certified, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification or comparable experience required for this position.  Preferred experience teaching preschool and/or school age group swim lessons to all levels/abilities, but willing to train.  We are especially looking for applicants who have the availability to work any of the following shifts (some for private lessons):  Mornings – Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturdays 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., Evenings – Tuesdays 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursdays 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.    private lessons.  This is a hourly, part-time position.

Group Exercise Instructors

Facilities – Night Custodians     

We are looking for energetic individuals to fill our open positions of Night Custodians. The qualified candidate will be required to complete all duties listed on a daily schedule along with maintaining the upkeep of assigned areas and equipment to include:  dusting, floor care, bathroom cleaning, painting, vacuuming, laundry, sanitizing, trash removal, window washing and other custodial tasks as needed.  May be required to operate motorized equipment and set-up and/or tear down furniture for events/meetings.  This position requires working with paint, cleaning solvents and chemical compounds and conditions that may create dust and dirt along with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.  Previous cleaning or custodial experience required.  This is an hourly, part-time position.

Must be available to work a rotation of the following hours:  Monday through Thursday – 8 PM to Midnight, Friday – 7 to 11 PM, Saturday – 5-9 PM; Sunday – 4-8 PM

Aquatic Fitness Instructors

Part-time and/or substitute instructors are needed to instruct water fitness for day and/or evening classes. Must have current First Aid, CPR, AED and Group Exercise Instructor certifications. 1-2 years experience is preferred.  Substitute instructors are also needed. This is an hourly, part-time position.
