Child Care Center
Assistant Group Supervisor/Acting as a Teaching Assistant (ASG)
This position will be responsible to lead the group when the Group Supervisor or Director is not present and to provide high quality childcare to the children in the YMCA Child Care Program. Will assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the Group Supervisor or Director. Will be responsible to provide consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the participants at all times. This includes abiding by all YMCA safety policies and regulations including Child Abuse Prevention standards, completing incident/accident reports, sign in/sign out procedures and taking attendance in a consistent manner each day. Will be required to meet and greet parents and children each day when they arrive to create a working relationship with parents for the purpose of best serving their children. Will demonstrate the YMCA Core Values at all times and incorporate them into the day’s activities. Will need to communicate child and or parent concerns and supply needs to Group Supervisor in a timely matter. Must have dependable transportation, able to life over 30 lbs., and able to lead activities in a gymnasium as well as in a classroom. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years prior experience working with children OR 30 credit hours in education or human services OR CDA OR a minimum of 600 hours of secondary training OR 15 credit hours AND 1 year experience. Will also need to obtain current certifications and clearances as required. Must be flexible to work Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position will average 15 to 20 hours a week (various times) Monday through Friday. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
City Center YMCA
Group Exercise Instructors
We are currently recruiting for instructors to sub teach Group Exercise classes. This position will have the opportunity to substitute regular classes at the YMCA as well as the possibility to instruct regularly scheduled YMCA classes. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the planning, teaching, instructing and retention of their group class. Availability to sub during scheduled classes needed. This is an hourly position.
Certified lifeguards needed to work year-round at our City Branch indoor pool. Qualified candidates must have current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. 1-2 years of guarding experience is preferred. We are especially looking for availability to work the following shifts: 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and/or 12:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We also have various hours available for Swim Instructors who are WSI/YSI certified.
Water Fitness Instructors
Certification required; various work hours available.
Group Exercise Instructors
Part-time instructors needed for morning and/or evening classes. Must be Group Exercise Instructor certified. Experience teaching Boot Camp, Yoga (all levels), Zumba, BODYPUMP
Certified lifeguards needed to work year-round in our indoor pool. Qualified candidates must have current lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. 1-2 years experience is preferred. Shift hours will vary between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM, 7 days a week. We are especially looking for daytime guards that can work between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
Motivational and inspirational part-time personal coaches needed to instruct and coach groups and individuals in exercise activities. Day, evening and weekend hours available. At least 1 year personal coaching experience and current First Aid, CPR and AED certifications required.
Water Aerobic Instructor
Part-time instructor needed for 3-4 hours/week of instruction. Must have current First Aid, CPR, AED and Group Exercise Instructor certifications. 1-2 years experience is preferred. Substitute instructors are also needed.
YMCA at New Holland
The Aquatic Director will be responsible for the planning, development, administration, growth and evaluation of all Aquatic programs along with conducting the maintenance of indoor/outdoor pools. This position will recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff necessary to achieve constant growth financially and programmatically. Will be responsible to create and manage annual departmental program plans including marketing plans, budget and staff requirements. Will lead the preparation of and manage department budget to ensure revenue targets and departmental nets are achieved and will administer accounting practices related to areas of the Aquatic Department. The selected candidate will be successful in providing member service through caring, honest, respectful and responsible actions that contribute to the relationship between the member and the YMCA organization.
Qualifications: 2 yr. experience or degree in related field. Thorough understanding of customer service and its relationship to membership development. Previous supervisory/management experience required. Experience in program development and managing department budget required. Efficient using Microsoft Office programs. Must obtain and maintain required certifications included but not limited to: Certified Pool Operators License, LGI or YMCA of the USA Lifeguard or trainer, swim lesson instructor or trainer, diving coach and masters swimming experience preferred. Exempt Position.
Aquatic Fitness Instructors
Part-time and/or substitute instructors are needed to instruct water fitness for day and/or evening classes. Must have current First Aid, CPR, AED and Group Exercise Instructor certifications. 1-2 years experience is preferred. Substitute instructors are also needed. Hourly, Non-Exempt Position
This position will be responsible to promote growth and retention through positive member experiences by monitoring work area, equipment, members and volunteers for safe and working operations at all times. Will effectively manage facility area to ensure it is inviting to members and staff and be required to interact with members while working on the floor by providing feedback on appropriate form and answer questions related to training. Will also provide members with a safe and basic routine to build upon as they continue to frequent the YMCA and promote programs and upcoming events. Will maintain cleanliness of the wellness center and communicate facility and equipment needs to the Health and Wellness Director. Successful candidate will also stay current with exercise trends and best practices. Accredited personal training certification preferred along with experience of hands on work in the fitness field. This is a non-exempt position.
