Our Summer Camp Programs
To learn, grow and reach their full potential, youth need ongoing enrichment opportunities during the summer months.Summer Camps at the Lancaster Family YMCA provide a perfect backdrop of fun, friendship, educational activities and healthy play that encourages children to develop in their own unique way and fosters a desire for learning that they’ll carry into the coming school year.
Our well-trained camp staff provide a safe and nurturing environment while engaging children in our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
At the Y, it’s our mission that all youth benefit from the endless possibilities of summer camp. Our camps offer opportunities for children from Pre-K age through teen years, and financial assistance towards program fees is available for those in need.
Registration for our 2017 Summer Day Camps, Pre-K Camps and Sports Camps Opens February 10, 2017.
Pre-K Summer Camp
Children get the great start they deserve at our Pre-K Summer Camp. We provide incoming Kindergarten students with the skills necessary to succeed in the coming school year through fun, games and camp theme weeks that help to improve and develop number, letter, color and shape recognition and enhance fine-motor skills and reading comprehension.
Offered at the Lancaster Family YMCA Child Care Center, Pre-K Summer Camp is available for children who will enter Kindergarten in the 2017/2018 school year.
Summer Day Camp (YMCA Branches)
Located at our City Center, Lampeter-Strasburg and YMCA at New Holland branches, our summer day camp provides a full-day camp program for children who have completed kindergarten through age 12. Our program is convenient and flexible for parents with drop-off beginning at 7:00 AM and pick-up running through 6:00 PM.
YMCA Camp Shand (Day and Resident Camping)
Located in Cornwall, PA, Camp Shand is the Lancaster Family YMCA’s nature-based camp, providing day and overnight camping programs for children entering 1st – 12th grades.
Camp Shand offers fun and enriching outdoor experiences in an environment where youth can make friends, learn new skills, build self-confidence and gain a sense of independence. Camp counselors serve as positive role models as they engage campers in the Y’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Summer Sports Camps
Y Summer Sports Camps keep children active and healthy during the
summer while helping them gain self confidence by developing new skills and learning how to interact in a team environment. Whether your child is trying a new sport or building on skills already acquired, we have a full summer of Sports Camps to choose from.
