Our Reopening Plan

Members and Friends of our Lancaster Family YMCA,
Taking care of our health is more important now than ever before. At the Y,
we’re here to help you stay active and healthy and improve your well-being
in spirit, mind and body. We’ve been carefully planning to reopen our
facilities and reactivate key programs in the safest manner possible over
time so you can access the services and support you miss and need the
most. We’re excited for our City Center branch and Lampeter Strasburg
branches to reopen wellness facilities and reactivate key programs starting
September 14, 2020. As we welcome the community back to the Y, we want
to assure you that safety remains our top priority. We have taken all
necessary steps to ensure the safety of our members, program participants,
volunteers and staff. This means things will look and feel a little different.
Updates to our Branches support safety, cleaning practices and support the
direction from the CDC and our local governing authorities.
Key programs will slowly be reintroduced back and hours of operation for
our wellness floor and programming will be different. When you come back to
the Y on September 14, 2020, this is what you can expect:
– Hours of operation for our City Center and Lampeter Strasburg
Branches will be:

limited and marked for social distancing. 3 shower stalls in the
women’s locker room and a limit of 3 Members in the men’s showers
will be open on September 21, 2020.
– Water fountains, vending machines, and towel service will not be
available. Water bottle filling stations will be available.
– Only Members of our Lancaster Family YMCAs will have usage of our
programming and facilities. We will not be honoring the National YMCA
Memberships or allowing guests into our facilities during the first
phase of reopening.
While we can’t predict how long the COVID-19 crisis will last, or whether
it will be necessary to close facilities and programs again in the future, we
are committed to doing whatever is necessary to ensure your safety.
Details about our safety procedures and policies will be shared as we
get closer to 9/14/2020.
The way we’ll interact with each other will be different, but at the Y, you’ll
always be able to connect with people, improve your health and wellness,
nurture your children’s potential and help strengthen our community. Due
to closing our facilities halfway through March 2020 we will not be drafting
any Membership fees for September 2020. Communication will be
sent to everyone as we grow closer to reopening including what to
do if you are not able to come back at this time.
We are proud to support our community and help our families during this
time. Our Kid’s Club is a program for School Aged Children will be beginning
in our City Center on September 8, 2020. This child care program will be
offered Monday- Friday from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Please email Melissa
