The Pre-K Assistant Teacher provides high quality care to the children in the YMCA Pre-K Programs. The Assistant Teacher assists in the implementation of daily activities and is responsible to provide consistent supervision with a focus on safety for the participants at all times, and will be responsible to lead the group if/when the Lead Teacher is not present. Will be required to meet and greet parents and children each day when they arrive to create a working relationship with parents for the purpose of best serving their children. Will demonstrate the YMCA Core Values at all times and incorporate them into the day’s activities. This includes abiding by all YMCA safety policies and regulations including Child Abuse Prevention standards, completing incident/accident reports, sign in/sign out procedures and taking attendance in a consistent manner each day.

Must have dependable transportation, able to lift over 30 lbs., lead activities in a gymnasium as well as in a classroom, and be able to walk to nearby facilities for program activities. Minimum requirements of a high school diploma/GED and CDA along with one year of experience working with children. All state mandated clearances required upon hire as well as CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
