Ways to Save on Summer Camp at the Y

Summer is coming and it’s time to start thinking about sun, fun and camp. If you appreciate saving a few dollars, here are a few tips to help you save on YMCA Summer Camp.

        • Use the sibling discount. Multiple kids? Head to your branch to register. Families with two or more full-time campers signed up for the same week receive $5 off per week for each additional child. Unfortunately, the discount cannot be applied online, so it must be done in person.

        • Become a YMCA member. A YMCA membership is not required to register for camp, however, members do receive a reduced rate. Join today!

        • Use a Dependent Care FSA account. Check with your employer to see if they offer a dependent care flexible spending account (FSA). A Dependent Care FSA is an account wherein your employer withholds pre-tax dollars from your paycheck for you to use on child care needs, like summer camp. Because the money is withdrawn before taxes, you are saving money by not being taxed on it.

        • Apply for an income-based membership. At the YMCA, we are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the resources and support that will help them to learn, grow and thrive, which is why we offer income-based memberships. Community members who qualify may apply for an income-based YMCA membership, which also grants discounted rates for programming, including camp!
